Live concert video streaming
Although technology is getting better every day, live events video streaming is still not an easy task to do, but with knowledge, experience and the right equipment it can be done.
There are many services out there now that provide live performance video streaming for a very low cost; the problem is finding the write one to fit your budget, location with the minimum amount of bandwidth. Also there are many resources on the Internet that offer so called "live nation video streaming" of webinars and other performances. These services can be used to stream a live concert.
As you probably know the cost for bandwidth is going down. Bandwidth dictates the quality of your video and the number of people (your audience) who are watching your live performance at the same time. But is not only the bandwidth which can define your live performance video a success, is also the crew and the audio-video equipment, the Internet connection on that particular location.
Technically, you can do a live music video streaming or any other nature of live performance with a webcam and if you think of it from this point of view it can be done at an extremely affordable price. Unfortunately, in many cases you don't know what you are running into if you haven't done this before.
As far as the equipment needed to broadcast audio-video over the internet, there are some decent digital video cameras for under $500 that can do the trick.
Definitely you will need a crew to accomplish a good quality broadcast and this is why: is not only the video quality that your audience will notice, it is also the quality of the sound and if you think that using the camera's microphone will be enough is a big mistake. You'll need to set up adequate microphones to pick up the sound from more than one point in the performance room and with a mixing console to mix all mikes together and send a stereo signal to the live stream.
An audio only version of a live event for your internet radio audience will work in the same way of course with less needed bandwidth and overall expense.
As an alternative to a live performance broadcast is recording the event on tape or a digital camera and uploading it to an internet video web server. The performance, tour or news event will be downloaded and watched by your audience with a delay or at a later time if this is acceptable.
